A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour, has been slammed after he released a list showing the names of the ADC chairmen in local governments of Lagos State.
Recall that Rhodes-Vivour contested the 2023 governorship election in Lagos but lost to incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. At the time, he was accused of not being fully Yoruba, having an Igbo mother and not being able to speak Yoruba, the language of the locals of Lagos.
His old social media posts also revealed a heavy leaning towards his mother's ethnicity, with his wife also an Igbo lady. This, along with many other factors, fueled distrust in his candidacy, thereby affecting his chances at the polls.
With the 2027 election fast approaching, Rhodes-Vivour, now an ADC member after dumping the Labour Party, is apparently gearing up to contest for the number one seat in Lagos.
However, netizens are once again suspicious of where his loyalty lies, following the release of the list of LG chairmen of the ADC. According to them, it is absurd that 10 out of the 20 chairmen are Igbos, a thing they see as a ploy to replace Yoruba people in their own domain.
See the list below.

Seeing the list, @tjmankind said, "In life, there are LFIs (learning from incidents). Some people just don't learn. Like, how do you repeat the same thing and expect different results? O ga o."
@aminu1oladimeji said, "7 Igbos, 11 non-Yorubas in a 20LG chairman for ADC in Lagos. You and your people are not ready. You can’t even fake the narrative. They are tagging you with a name and you are answering to that name."
@TemiO834716 said, "Patrick, even though I’m not deeply involved in party politics, I can still understand why someone would attract so much opposition in a state. You simply cannot read the room or interpret body language, and that strongly suggests there was no Yorùbá influence in your upbringing. Reading the room and understanding body language are basic attributes of Yorùbá people, almost like it’s in our blood. Did you learn anything at all?"
@YakubTijani2 said, "You have not learnt any lessons and it shows that you are just a noisemaker and not a politician."
@Mypic80 said, "You have the mind to use IBO as chairman again in Lagos? And you want to tell us you are not Ipob agenda? In lagos that is largely Yoruba people? You find it hard to use the owner of the state in 12places not even 2-3? And you want to tell us you are for us? Same way you lost is here."
