Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle has hailed his Super Eagles stars for their remarkable campaign at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The three-time African champions finished as second runners-up after beating Egypt in the third-place playoff via a shootout on Saturday, January 17.

Eric Chelle’s side was one of the most exciting teams at the tournament, boasting a lethal attacking force.

Nigeria racked up 14 goals, more than any other team in the competition.

Despite missing out on the ultimate prize, Chelle believes his side gave their all and earned his respect.

“You know it’s not easy when a French guy comes, and I was so demanding with them,” Chelle said in his post-match interview.

“I’m very proud of them. They gave everything for me, and for sure they have won my respect for life.”
