Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has revealed why Enzo Maresca parted ways with Chelsea.
According to Campbell, the Italian tactician left the job at Stamford Bridge because he had another job in the pipeline.
Maresca was dismissed by the Blues on New Year's Day following a fall out with the club's hierarchy.
The former Leicester City manager won the Europa Conference League and the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in his debut season with the club.
The Blues quickly lineup former Strasbourg coach Liam Rosenoir to take over from Italian tactician.
Speaking on Maresca's departure from Stamford Bridge, Campbell stated that the 45-year-old had another job lined up for him.
“I just think Enzo Maresca is set for another job.
“You won’t leave that position unless you have another job already lined up. What might be making him uncomfortable to leave a club like Chelsea, which has a lot of young talent and is moving in the right direction?
“He’s clearly looking for another job – or maybe another job soon.
According to widespread reports, Maresca could replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City at the end of the season.
