Cost of bombs dropped on terrorists can build them schools - Sheikh Gumi

Sheikh Gumi Sheikh Gumi

Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has said herdsmen deserve schools and other basic amenities instead of being bombarded with bombs.

According to him, the bombs dropped on them cost more than enough to solve the problems he claims they are facing.

On Facebook, Sheikh Gumi said, "Most herdsman need deliverance from ignorance and themselves not bombardment. He doesn't even understand the basic creed of Islam and the serious danger of unexploded bombs. That's why I built a school for them. Instead of dropping a $2m bomb, which can build schools and amenities for them."

His Facebook post came shortly after a viral video showed him saying that Allah will not grant victory to any government using weapons against bandits.

Gumi said, "If you elect a politician who will continue to buy weapons to crush the people of the forest (bandits), you will destroy yourselves. Because you cannot do it, you cannot do it. Even Allah will not grant you victory."

Gumi has been very vocal in support of terrorists in Nigeria for almost a decade, openly calling on government to grant them amnesty despite their murderous intent. His voice has been active since the United States dropped bombs on an ISIS command centre in Sokoto State.
