Super Eagles camp swells to 24 players ahead of Egypt friendly

The number of Super Eagles players at the team’s camp in Cairo has increased to 24 on Tuesday morning, according to the latest reports.

Nantes defender Chidozie Awaziem and new invitee Salim Fago Lawal were the latest arrivals at the Renaissance Hotel, where the team is currently lodged.

The duo arrived just in time for the Super Eagles’ morning training session ahead of the international friendly against Egypt.

Head coach Eric Chelle held his first training session with the team on Monday night as preparations continue to intensify.

The three-time African champions will face the record seven-time champions, Egypt, at the Cairo International Stadium later today, Tuesday, December 16.

The encounter forms part of both teams’ preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be hosted by Morocco.

Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm Nigeria time.
