A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has lamented that Igbos justify the killing of each other in the Southeast by stating that killings are also going on in the northern part of the country.
This was as he lamented that criminals have now taken over the region by imposing sit-at-home orders on Mondays.
He, however, hailed those Igbos who have raised their voices in condemnation of the destruction of peace in the Southeast and making effort to take back the region from criminal elements.
He said on Facebook, "If we are serious in taking back South East we must do everything humanly possible to stop this Sit- At- Home every Monday. We have to defeat the criminals who are taking advantage of it to justify their acceptance in the volatile zone.
"I salute the courage of a vast preponderance of Igbo men and women I see on this Blue App, both at home and abroad, rising up to take back the land of the rising sun from fraudsters, killers, butchers, criminals and bandits. The time is now.
"Shame is no longer in our system. We gather in Lagos and other cities outside Igboland to do traditional marriages for our sons and daughters. We abandoned our mansions and moved to other safe cities in Nigeria. It is Igbo vs Igbo.
"I do not know how Igbo Nation got to this sorry pass. Tell them that Igbo have been killing Igbo since 2015, and they will tell you that the same killings are going on in the North. So there is now a competition abi? I may have overrated Igbo Nation in Nigeria."
