The naira on Tuesday recorded its first appreciation against the United States dollar across the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the currency traded at N1,445.39 per dollar on Tuesday, strengthening from the N1,448.44 recorded on Monday.
This represents a day-on-day appreciation of N3.05.
Tuesday’s gain at the official market was the first since last week, on November 26, 2025.
At the parallel market, the naira also strengthened by N5 against the dollar, closing at N1,470 on Tuesday, compared with N1,475 recorded the previous day, according to multiple Bureau de Change operators in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja.
The development comes as Nigeria’s foreign reserves rose further to $44.67 billion as of November 28.
Recall that on Monday, the naira depreciated against the dollar across the foreign exchange markets.
