Reno Omokri has slammed former presidential candidate Peter Obi for referring to Nigeria as a now-disgraced country while at the same time seeking to govern it.
In a social media post, Omokri, a former presidential aide, revealed that Obi's trip to the United States triggered anti-Nigerian sentiment.
He said, "Dear Peter Obi, This is now the second time in a week that you are referring to Nigeria as a "now disgraced country". This is for a country that you purportedly want to govern. You could not more blatantly show your IPOB loyalties than you have in this sickening post.
"We understand that your trip to Washington, D.C., between September 23 and 25 triggered this sudden anti-Nigerian sentiment, which began on September 26, 2025.
"Now, here you are mocking Brigadier-General M. Uba, who paid the supreme sacrifice, and politicising the unfortunate abduction of 25 girls and using it to your advantage. Nigerians are watching you.
"I have attached a photo of the late Major General Harold Greene, of the United States Army. This hero was killed by a terrorist who had been wrongly recruited into the Afghan Army in 2014.
"Did that act of terror, which claimed his life, make America a 'now disgraced country'? Of course not. America is still one of, if not the greatest, countries on Earth.
"Have the many mass school shootings in America made them a disgraceful nation? But you are so desperate to be President, you can always be counted on to be used by foreign powers against Nigeria's interests!
"These things happen, and shame on you for using the death of Brigadier-General M. Uba for your propaganda.
"I also urge you to remember that the officers and men of our armed forces are watching you desecrate the memory of one of their own in your desperation to be President.
"Will they ever accept you as a Commander-in-Chief after this? Tufiakwa! God forbid!"
