Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has highlighted the threat posed by Gabon captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of the crucial World Cup playoff clash.
Aubameyang has been in impressive form for the Panthers in the qualifiers, netting seven goals in nine appearances.
The Olympique Marseille forward is expected to lead the line when the Panthers lock horns with the Super Eagles in the semi-finals of the World Cup playoffs on Thursday, November 13.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Ekong warned the Super Eagles not to underestimate the opposition.
“Gabon is a strong team. Aubameyang continues to lead from the front, causing problems for defenders. I’ve played against him in Saudi Arabia, and I know what he brings. In Africa, you can’t underestimate any team, and we certainly won’t do that with Gabon,” Troost-Ekong told Olympics.com.
The game will take place at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat.
