Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on reports suggesting that Spanish champions Barcelona are considering a move for Victor Osimhen.
Despite joining Galatasaray on a permanent deal in the summer, the Nigerian international has been linked with another move to a top European club.
Reports indicate that the Catalans want the former Napoli striker as a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish international’s contract with the Blaugrana expires at the end of the current campaign.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano cleared the air on the Osimhen–Barcelona speculation.
Despite acknowledging Barcelona’s search for a new striker to replace Lewandowski, the transfer expert stated that there have been no talks between Barcelona and Victor Osimhen at the moment.
“For sure, Barcelona are looking for strikers for 2026 — that is important to say because Lewandowski is out of contract and has concrete chances of leaving the club on a free,” Romano said.
“So, Barcelona are looking for strikers. But at the moment, Osimhen is not negotiating or talking with any club.
“Barcelona are not negotiating for Osimhen today, and Osimhen is focused on Galatasaray. That is very important to say. Barcelona are just trying to understand the strikers.”
