Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Lagos State, Moyo Ogunlewe, has urged critics to pay attention to their local government and refrain from interfering in the one he oversees.
Ogunlewe's comment may not be unconnected to the constant criticism from elements who claim to love Nigeria but never criticise their local rulers in the process of attacking those of regions they don't even reside in.
He shared, "If you truly care about Nigeria, you will pay attention to your own local government, not mine."
Contributing to Ogunlewe's comment, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Lagos State Governor, Wale Ajetunmobi, cited an instance of a person attacking the government of another state while his own village was flooded.
He said, "Something I told them yesterday and they spun it out of context. An Obidient from the East wanted an explanation as to why some places in Ogun State got flooded, whereas flood has been pounding his own village. All communities have their own peculiar problems; you can’t have your own problems and be enraged over another man’s problems. Rage shouldn’t be selective if good governance is truly your agenda."
