Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo.
The Blues have struggled in the centre-back role this season following injuries to Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.
The likes of Tosin Adarabioyo, Josh Acheampong and Benoit Badiashile have all had a fair share of injury concerns in recent weeks.
According to Football Insider, the centre-back position remains a priority for Italian manager Enzo Maresca and the club has identified Araujo as a potential signing to bolster the club's defence.
Barcelona's financial woes could force them to sell the Uruguayan international, who has struggled to cement his position under German manager Hansi Flick.
Premier League title holders Liverpool are also said to be interested in signing the 26-year-old.
As revealed on Football Insider's latest podcast show, it is highly unlikely for the Blues to land the signature of Araujo in January.
