A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Joe Igbokwe, has slammed former Lagos State governorship candidate, Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour, for criticizing Lagos government over the flooding the state experiences annually
According to Igbokwe, "This young Okoko may not know that Lagos is a coastal City."
He said Rhodes-Vivour may not know also that some parts of Lagos are below sea level.
Igbokwe reminded critics of the state that he once served as SA Drainage in the Ministry of Environment Lagos for 4 years and understands the terrain very well.
"I know what LASG invest in constructing drains, cleaning the drains and dredging every year. Again the attitudes of near 30:million Lagosians in matters refuse disposal has been a big problem.
"There are also wetlands in Lagos where you are not supposed build anything on. If there is heavy downpour the wetlands become reservoirs. Shockingly some people go to build there. In this case Ministry of Environment knows what to do. Young man know this and have inner peace Coastal cities are prone to flooding anywhere in the world . Lagos is not an exception."
