Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has said ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi is still mourning the arrest of Gentle de Yahoo by security operatives.

Gentle de Yahoo, real name is Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta, is a notorious commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

His arrest was announced on Tuesday by the Nigerian Army after his hideout was raided in Imo State.

Since the arrest, Obi has not issued any statement, similar to how he never commented on the jailing of Simon Ekpa by the Finnish government.

According to Omokri, the arrest must have hurt Obi, whom he claimed in several posts that he hardly reacts when IPOB and its men engage in dastardly acts.

He wrote on Facebook, "Alas, Peter Obi is still mourning the raid on Gentle De Yahoo's hideout that led to his capture. If it's a tragedy in the Southwest or the North, trust Obi, he would have fired a statement since. But as it was against the leader of the Unknown Gunmen, Peter Obi is experiencing severe pains!

"Go to his profile. He was mocking the security situation in Katsina an hour before the capture of Gentle De Yahoo. Since that news came out, Obi has not posted. Do not expect a statement any time soon."
