Nigeria's sprint queen Tobi Amusan has expressed her excitement after winning a silver medal in the final of the women's 100 metres hurdles race at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Amusan finished second in the race with a remarkable time of 12.28 s.

The former world champion finished behind Switzerland’s Ditaji Kambundji, who clinched gold after clocking 12.24 s.

The 28-year-old joined the likes of Blessing Okagbare and Ese Brume as the only Nigerians to win multiple medals at the World Athletics Championships.

Sharing her thoughts after the race, Amusan attributed her success to the providence of God.

“It’s been God; the journey has been extremely rough. I’ve taken more Ls than wins, and I’m just thankful that I have a great support system: my coach, my family, my mentors, my loved ones, my fans,” Amusan told Making of Champions.
