Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has shared how his side capitalized on the weaknesses of Manchester United in their Premier League encounter last Sunday, August 24.

The Cottagers held the Red Devils to a 1–1 draw at Craven Cottage, denying Ruben Amorim his first win of the season after spending big in the summer.

Manchester United took the lead through a Rodrigo Muniz own goal after skipper Bruno Fernandes blasted a spot kick over the crossbar in the first half.

Emile Smith Rowe came off the bench to apply the finishing touch, courtesy of a fine cross from Iwobi on the left flank, to equalize for the home side.

Speaking in a post-match reaction, the Super Eagles midfielder disclosed that his side exploited the weaknesses in the Manchester United team.

“The resilience to come back. We knew that the difference could be made off the bench. It is better to not lose, and we were able to get a good point against a good team,” Iwobi told Sky Sports.

“We knew that we would be able to get behind their two midfielders and that their centre-backs would want to jump – we exploited that today.”
