Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has revealed that his side deeply regrets their disappointing loss to Sudan in the ongoing African Nations Championship.

The Home Eagles crashed out of the tournament despite beating Congo 2–0 in their final group game.

Nigeria had earlier lost 1–0 to Senegal in their group opener and went on to suffer a crushing 4–0 defeat to Sudan in their second game.

The Super Eagles B finished third in the group behind Sudan and Senegal.

Speaking in a post-match reaction following Nigeria's 2–0 victory against Congo, the Malian tactician stated that his team will carefully analyze their disappointing loss to Sudan.

“Our deep regret stems from our heavy defeat to Sudan, but that’s football,” Chelle said via CAF’s official website.

“We will carefully analyze the Sudan match to make up for what happened in the future.”

Eric Chelle will now switch his attention to next month's World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.
