Italian Serie A champions Napoli are reportedly eyeing Genk striker Tolu Arokodare as a potential summer signing.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward has been identified as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who sustained an injury during Napoli’s 2–1 preseason victory over Olympiakos Piraeus last week. The Belgian international is expected to be sidelined for over three months.

Lukaku joined Napoli at the start of last season, replacing Victor Osimhen. With his absence looming large, the club is actively exploring options to reinforce its attacking line.

According to Sportingpedia, Napoli are considering several candidates to fill the void, including Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee, Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, and AS Roma’s Artem Dovbyk.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Napoli have initiated contact with Arokodare’s camp regarding a possible deal.

“Napoli keep moving for new striker after Romelu Lukaku injury and today made contact with Tolu Arokodare’s camp. He is valued at €20–25 million by Genk after being top scorer last season in Belgium,” Romano stated.

“Follows moves for Højlund on Monday as Napoli are exploring the strikers market.”

Arokodare enjoyed a standout season in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, scoring 23 goals and securing the Golden Boot award.
