Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has stated that Eko Atlantic City in Lagos is worth $6 billion, which is equivalent to the entire Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Anambra State.

Omokri made the revelation to praise the brain behind the establishment of the city, President Bola Tinubu, while criticising those who compare him to a former presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

He shared on Facebook, "This entire city used to be part of the Atlantic Ocean. There was no land—just water—lots of water!
And then Governor Bola Tinubu reclaimed this land from the Atlantic Ocean and built a brand new city that never existed before-Eko Atlantic City. This new city is now the most expensive real estate in Sub-Saharan Africa and among Africa's top three most highly prized neighbourhoods.

"Eko Atlantic City did not exist in 1999. In 2025, it is worth $6 billion. And guess what? The entire GDP of Anambra State is also $6 billion. Assume I am lying and fact-check me.

"And yet, you are telling Nigerians that Peter Obi, a man who spent eight years as Anambra Governor without building a single nursery, primary, or secondary school and university, is a better alternative to a man who added the entire value of the economy of Anambra to Nigeria?

"My friend, stop smoking colos!"
