Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has stated that he didn't leave Nigeria to live abroad after his government appointment ended.

According to him, he had been living in California since he was nine years old and had to return to that life after his appointment as a presidential aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan came to an end.

Omokri made this statement in response to a Facebook user who inquired about why he and other former government officials dislike living in Nigeria.

He said, "Dear Miyanki, Thank you for your feedback. I did not "run off to abroad" after my appointment ended. That's an Obidient lie. I have been living in California since the age of nine in 1983. I went to Nigeria for four years and returned to my life in California when my tenure ended.

"Another lie Omoyele Sowore told when I exposed him as a blackmailer was that President Jonathan fired me. Please Google President Jonathan's statement debunking that lie from the Blackmailer-in-Chief, Sowore."
