20-time Serie A Champions Inter Milan are set to place an improved offer for Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
The former RB Leipzig attacker has made it clear that his chapter in Bergamo has come to an end, and he's keen on playing his football elsewhere.
Inter Milan have submitted three different bids for the 27-year-old attacker, but all of their offers fell on deaf ears as Atalanta declined all of them, maintaining they don't want to sell Lookman to another Italian club.
On the flip side, Lookman is only interested in moving to the San Siro, and has aired his displeasure at not being allowed to fulfill his desire.
Atalanta have also continued to raise their asking fee for the 2024 CAF Player of the year who's also refused to train with the team, reportedly flying to England to continue his recovery from a calf injury.
Inter Milan set to submit new offer for Lookman
The Super Eagles star has a contract at the Gewiss Stadium that runs until the summer of 2027, and Atalanta are asking for about €55m fee.
As per Buchi Laba, Inter Milan are set to launch another offer around the range of what Atalanta are demanding for Lookman in the coming days, with the hopes of wrapping the deal up before the end of August.
Christian Chivu's came close to winning the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League last season, but they ran out of steam towards the end, missing out on both titles.
They're keen on having strength in depth this season, and want to wrap up deals for all of their transfer targets so the players can be aligned with the club's aims for the 2025/2026 campaign.
