A move to the Turkish Süper Lig could be on the cards for Kelechi Iheanacho, as reports indicate that the Nigerian international is closing in on a move to Samsunspor from Spanish La Liga side Sevilla.

Iheanacho's future at Sevilla was uncertain heading into this summer following his unsuccessful loan spell at Sky Bet Championship side Middlesbrough.

The Super Eagles forward managed just a single goal and two assists in 15 appearances for Michael Carrick's side.

The 28-year-old has struggled to secure game time since joining the Rojiblancos as a free agent last summer.

He managed just nine La Liga appearances for Sevilla under former manager García Pimienta.

According to a report from George Tsarouchas, Süper Lig outfit Samsunspor is inching closer to a deal for the former Leicester City man.

Iheanacho has reportedly agreed to a €1.2 million-per-year contract with the club.

Iheanacho will be joining the likes of Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi, and Paul Onuachu as Super Eagles stars who have secured a move to the Turkish league this summer.
