Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has slammed former Anambra governor Peter Obi for castigating Ibom Air following an unruly behaviour displayed by a passenger on its Uyo-Lagos flight.

Omokri recalled that when former Edo governor, Adams Oshiomhole, had issues with Air Peace, Obi came out to defend the airline.

According to him, Obi treats matters concerning his ethnicity differently from how he treats others.

He wrote, "Peter Obi: What Is Sauce For Air Peace Is Also Sauce For Ibom Air.

"Please fact-check me: On Saturday, June 14, 2025, after Senator Adams Oshiomhole and other Nigerian citizens had an altercation with Air Peace, Peter Obi rushed to social media in defence of that airline, even when many Nigerians testified that they had suffered a similar fate as that of Senator Oshiomhole.

"Obi released a statement attacking Oshiomhole, the victim in that incident. And that was not the first time.

"In all the controversies involving Air Peace, have you ever seen Peter Obi and his Obidients say anything negative about that airline? No. Peter Obi has written to defend Air Peace at almost every point when they face a crisis, whether it is of their making or not. But look at how he threw Ibom Air under the bus for an incident for which they may not even be at fault.

"Let me ask you an honest question: If Air Peace were involved in this controversy with Ms. Comfort Emmanson instead of Ibom Air, would Peter Obi and his Obidients have acted the way they did?

"Has Peter Obi talked about the kidnapping and abduction of Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet? But he had time to castigate Ibom Air. In fact, he released two statements, back to back, against Ibom Air, and his Obidients were triggered to de-market the airline.

"Learn from this saga. The same way Peter Obi and his Obidients treated and are still treating Ibom Air is the way and manner they will treat you if they ever rise to power.

"Once the matter involves Igboland or an Igboman, Peter Obi becomes defensive. But when it comes to Nigerians or other ethnicities, Obi becomes an attack dog. Nigerians, am I lying?"
