Super Eagles forward Umar Sadiq has teamed up with House of Representatives member for Kaduna North, Bello El-Rufai, to acquire Nigeria National League (NNL) club Ranchers Bees.
The duo has pledged to revive the club’s fortunes and secure promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Former Sadiq teammate, Nura Abdullahi, has been appointed as the new president of the club.
Following the change in ownership, Ranchers Bees will be pushing for promotion to the Nigerian top flight next season.
Founded in the 1970s, Ranchers Bees were a household name in Nigerian football during the 1990s, winning the WAFU Cup in 1993.
The club has produced several Nigerian football greats, including Daniel Amokachi, Dominic Iorfa, and Davidson Owumi.
