Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has disclosed that the club's medical team will give new signing Victor Gyökeres the green light to feature in their preseason match against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The Swedish international joined the Gunners from Sporting CP last week and is yet to make his debut for the club.

The 27-year-old has been training with Arteta's side since completing his move and has been taking part in drills.

The Gunners are looking forward to Gyökeres' first official game as the team prepares to take on Tottenham.

Speaking ahead of the game, Arteta said the decision will be made by the medical team:

“He has only done today’s session and yesterday very little.

“We are going to assess tonight where he is. If the medical staff are pleased with his condition, it is possible.”
