The Nigeria Police Force has revealed that it has stopped the practice of parading criminals before the media due to its respect for human rights.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in response to a request from a user on X to see the faces of five policemen who the force had recently disciplined for misconduct.
Adejobi captioned a photo of the officers showing them backing the camera: "They have been seen, and detained. We kick against indiscipline and gross misconduct. Too bad. @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU monitor and ensure the needful is done. Thanks."
When an X user asked why their faces were hidden, he responded, "The NPF has stopped parading suspects, even those hardened criminals are not being paraded again. We respect people's human rights, and that's the law and the practice. Ire oo."
