Socio-political activist Aisha Yesufu has accused Reuben Abati, a former presidential aide, of playing a significant role in the defeat of President Goodluck Jonathan during the 2015 elections. Abati served as the Special Adviser on Media to President Jonathan from 2011 to 2015.

In the 2015 election, Jonathan, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was defeated by the late Muhammadu Buhari.

On her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Aisha claimed that Abati was one of the main figures responsible for Jonathan’s loss.

She wrote, “It is people that didn’t know Reuben Abati @abati1990 during Jonathan that are surprised when he does or says certain things!

“If you count people that led to former president Jonathan losing the 2015 election, Reuben Abati is amongst the first to be counted.

“You think Femi Adesina was obnoxious? You didn’t meet Reuben Abati in action.”
