Yusuf Buhari, the son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed his family's gratitude to President Bola Tinubu concerning the burial of his father.
Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a prolonged illness in London. He was flown in using a presidential jet, with Vice President Kashim Shettima accompanying the remains from London to Nigeria as directed by Tinubu.
Tinubu was also present to receive the remains at the airport before travelling to Daura, Katsina State, where Buhari was buried.
During a special Federal Executive Council meeting on Thursday, Yusuf Buhari expressed his appreciation to Tinubu and Nigerians from all walks of life, including members of the diplomatic community, for the honour bestowed on his father in death.
He also commended Shettima and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu for the outstanding support the family received from the time their father fell ill until his passing on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
