Former Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi insists Chelsea still needs a top goalkeeper despite Robert Sanchez's heroics against Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Speaking in a post-match reaction, Mikel Obi — who has been a big critic of the 27-year-old — lauded him for his excellent performance against Luis Enrique's side.

However, the former Chelsea midfielder believes the Blues still need a top goalkeeper to compete next season.

"I still believe we do need a top, top goalkeeper. Robert Sanchez had a brilliant game today, but going into the new season with the Champions League and the Premier League, I think you still need another top goalkeeper that is going to come in and compete with him," Mikel Obi told DAZN.
