Juve, Al Hilal, Gala in Osimhen race – Fabrizio

Victor Osimhen Victor Osimhen

Juventus, Al Hilal and Galatasaray are currently the only clubs battling to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen from Napoli, according to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano ruled out any possibility of Manchester United making a bid for the striker, despite widespread speculation linking the English giants with a move for the 26-year-old.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said, “At the moment still no breakthrough in this story (Manchester United trying to sign Osimhen), and nothing will happen in the upcoming hours.

“I keep receiving many questions from Manchester United fans, but at the moment, I’m not aware of concrete negotiations between Manchester United and Napoli for Victor Osimhen.”

The Italian transfer guru revealed that Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia and Galatasaray, where Osimhen spent last season on loan, are actively working on deals to secure his signature.

“At the moment, Al-Hilal from Saudi and Galatasaray, where Osimhen was on loan last season, keep working on a deal to get him,” Romano explained.

“Galatasaray are trying, obviously, with a different financial proposal compared to the one from Al-Hilal. So both clubs are in conversations to sign Victor Osimhen.”

Romano added, “Let’s see what is going to happen there because Juventus called in the recent weeks for Osimhen, but at the moment Galatasaray and Al-Hilal are pushing to make the deal happen.”

The Nigerian striker remains one of the most intriguing cases on the transfer market, with his future at Napoli appearing increasingly uncertain following a deterioration in his relationship with the club.

Despite being arguably one of the best centre-forwards on the planet, no European club aside from Juventus has made a concrete attempt to land Osimhen this summer. Many believe this is due to the striker’s hefty salary demands and Aurelio De Laurentiis’ asking price of €75m, which represents the value of the player’s release clause.

Juventus are reportedly looking to play their cards despite being unable to activate the player’s release clause, which is only valid for clubs outside Italy. According to Il Corriere della Sera, the Bianconeri offered Napoli the services of Dusan Vlahovic as part of a package deal to sign Osimhen.

However, the negotiations never truly took off as Vlahovic utterly rejected the destination.

The Serbian striker is determined to stay in Turin and see out his contract, especially with his salary reaching €12M next season, making him the best-paid footballer in Serie A.

Reports suggest that Juventus are now aiming to rescind Vlahovic’s contract by offering severance pay, as they are determined to take the 25-year-old off their books one way or the other.
