Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has countered entertainer Charlie Boy with facts disproving his claims that the Southeast region of Nigeria is being marginalised by the Federal Government.
Charly Boy had shared on social media how the Southeast is not benefiting from the student loan initiative by the President Bola Tinubu administration.
He also listed a lack of a seaport and an international airport in the region to buttress his point.
Reacting, Omokri wrote on Facebook, "This is just malicious propaganda. Please fact-check me: As of a week ago, exactly 27,098 students from the Southeast had benefited from the Tinubu Student Loan scheme operated by NELFUND.
"The JAMB glitch affected not only the Southeast. This is a lie. Lagos is the most affected state.
"On seaport, the Southeast is landlocked, so a region with no access to the sea cannot have a seaport. However, the Federal Government, along with private companies, built the Onitsha River Port, which remains idle today due to a lack of patronage and internal politics in the Southeast, despite being commissioned three times by three different Presidents.
"There is an international airport in the Southeast, Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
"There are several rail routes in the Southeast, including the Port Harcourt-Aba Rail. The Nigerian Railway Corporation's major problem is that there is very heavy pilfering of rail lines in the Southeast—more than in all other regions combined. People steal the rail lines, and it is affecting their operations.
"Nevertheless, they still maintain their routes in the Southeast and are building more rail lines.
"Finally, there are military checkpoints in the Southeast because unknown gunmen attacked and closed down forty-four police stations, destroyed several public infrastructures and continued to kill innocent Nigerian citizens, such as a pregnant Harira Jubril and her four underaged daughters.
"They block interstate routes and kill travellers at will, especially non-Igbos.
"IPOB and ESN also kill and harass Nigerians every Monday in pursuit of their sit-at-home agenda. That is why there are roadblocks.
"Please, I appeal to you to use your platform to spread only verified information."
