Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has revealed how he escaped facing a six months suspension while he was in the Senate.
According to Sani, he almost got suspended because exposed the salary structure of members of the Senate.
He said he got rescued due to divine intervention and effort of the former Senate President and his deputy, Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, respectively.
He shared on X, "When I publicly disclosed the salaries and allowances of the Senators,it nearly earned me a SIX months suspension if not for Divine Intervention,Saraki and Ekwerenmadu’s immediate rescue.Just know that if you are there and you blow whistle too loudly, you will be “On your Own”,no senator go bring him head or neck to support you."
Sani said this amid the six months suspension earned by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan who represents Kogi Central.
Natasha was suspended for disregarding house rules after she refused to acknowledged the new seating arrangements which saw her seat repositioned.
Her suspension comes amid a sexual harassment allegation petition she tabled against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
