Uju-Kennedy Ohanenye has described herself as the "sacked Ex-Minister of Women Affairs" in her first interview following her dismissal by President Bola Tinubu.

Uju-Kennedy was dismissed by Tinubu during a cabinet reshuffle in October of this year.

She was among five Ministers discharged from Tinubu’s cabinet.

During her interview on Channels TV on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, she told the host to address her as the "sacked minister" rather than "removed," which the host had said earlier.

"Let me first introduce myself how it should be, because you said I was removed. I am Uju-Kennedy Ohanenye, the sacked Minister of Women Affairs. I think I'd prefer you to use that word. You understand my point. I am fine. Thank you so much," she told the host.

Speaking further, she said she continues to handle cases she was working on before her dismissal by the President.

According to Uju-Kennedy, she was sacked but her vision was not sacked.

Uju-Kennedy, responding to questions insisted her visions were “not sacked”.

“I was sacked, but my visions remain; my visions were not sacked,” she said.

“I have been doing all those I was doing when I was the minister of women’s affairs.

“I still go to court to defend the people that can’t defend themselves, that don’t have money to get a lawyer.

“I am still handling all the cases I had before I left, and they are quite sensitive cases, so I couldn’t just abandon them.”
