Popular social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, who is popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has called out the FCT Minister over the demolition in the capital that has rendered residents homeless.

In a post on his Instagram handle, VeryDarkMan described the actions of Wike as "pure wickedness and inhumane," as it has forced over 10 thousand people out of their settlement.

VDM stressed that the action of the former Rivers State Governor could breed terrorism if not treated properly.

Excerpts of his post read: "Dear Nyesom Wike, the Minister of FCT, this is pure wickedness and inhumane to force over 10 thousand people out of their settlement with gunshots fired at them, leaving women and children homeless without shelter and without hope in an economy where even the elites are complaining of hardship. This is not fair, and if you don’t stop this, it will go on to breed terrorists and insurgency in Abuja."

"We are living in a desperate time, people can barely even feed, and now you have put them in a condition where they will have to sleep in the cold, no bed, no roof over their heads. Please stop the demolition now or better yet, create housing for them, relocate them, and compensate them."

Recall that residents of Ruga, a settlement along Airport Road, Abuja, took to the streets on Friday to protest the demolition of their homes by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

DAILY POST reports that Wike had previously ordered a task force, “Operation Sweep,” to demolish Ruga and other communities within the nation’s capital to clear the city of perceived nuisances and criminal activities.

Leading the demonstration, renowned lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju, along with VeryDarkMark, said the demolition was carried out with malicious intent.

Adeyanju expressed concern, stating that the task force burned many houses and destroyed property worth millions of naira.
