The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Asue Ighodalo is confident he will emerge victorious in the ongoing elections.
Ighodalo claimed exit polls show he is cruising the victory as he spoke to journalist after casting his ballot at Okaegben Ward One, unit 3, Ewohimi.
"Exit polls show that we are doing well and we are very comfortable with that," he said.
He also lamented the reports of elements within the All Progressives Congress (APC) who have attempted to undermine the process.
He said it is a shame that the ruling party at the national level would want to undermine the process at the state level.
"What we are not comfortable with is the little shenanigans happening especially from the APC. We are hearing their supporters have been trying to undermine the process and many of them have been caught with ballot papers and PVCs, worst still they go around trying to buy votes," he noted.
"It is a shame that the APC as the ruling party at the national level is now the party that is undermining the process. And I said this before, the leader of the APC is a democrat so why is the party undermining his credibility and his credentials."
Voting in Ighodalo's ward started after schedule due to the late arrival of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Channels TV, INEC officials arrived late at the voting unit.
Security operatives, as well as newsmen, were also sighted loitering in wait for the INEC officials.
