Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki stated that his decision to declare a state burial for the late Chief Tony Anenih, a prominent PDP leader, was the reason for his fallout with former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Obaseki made this declaration during his first term in office while still a member of the APC.

Speaking at a PDP campaign rally in Uromi, Obaseki said Oshiomhole had not forgiven him for the decision, even though he believed it was the right thing to do, given Anenih's contributions to Edo State and Nigeria.

Obaseki emphasized his commitment to a united Edo by supporting Asue Ighodalo, a qualified and capable candidate from Esan, for governor.

Ighodalo pledged to complete ongoing projects, create more opportunities, and make Edo self-sufficient, building on the foundation laid by Obaseki.

His revelation raised reactions among the people of Edo State.
