Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi says the team is ready to change the narrative when they take on Benin Republic in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Nigeria will take on Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Saturday, September 7, as they begin their 2025 AFCON qualifiers campaign.

Gernot Rohr's side defeated the 2023 AFCON finalists in their last encounter in the World Cup qualifiers, casting doubts on Nigeria's FIFA World Cup chances.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming fixture, the Leicester City midfielder stated that the Super Eagles are ready to overturn the last scoreline when the two teams lock horns in Uyo early next month.

“We know we haven’t done as well as we wanted in the World Cup qualifiers but we’re ready to make things right in Uyo,” Ndidi said in a short video posted on the Super Eagles X account.

“They [Benin] had their win in Abidjan, but we’ll see what happens in Uyo. Don’t worry; we’re prepared.”
