Former President Olusegun Obasanjo shared a story about the difficulties his mother faced during his birth, revealing that she carried him for 12 months.

He attributed these challenges to witches and wizards, but also expressed gratitude for God's intervention.

This revelation came during a drama presentation commemorating the 66th anniversary of his mother's passing.

The drama, titled "Aremu omo Asabi," took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta.

Obasanjo lamented that his mother did not live to witness his success and enjoy the fruits of her labor.

He also disclosed that out of the nine children she gave birth to, only he and his sister survived.

Obasanjo mentioned that his father held the belief that educating female children was unnecessary, resulting in only him receiving an education.

Despite this, he promised to support the troupe's efforts to create the longest open drama for the Guinness Book of Records.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State praised Obasanjo's mother as a remarkable woman whose influence will be everlasting.

The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also commended Obasanjo for honoring his late mother and recognizing the significant role of mothers in society.

The event served as a tribute to Obasanjo's mother and highlighted the sacrifices that mothers make for their children.
