Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has disclosed why Organised Labour canceled the planned strike action scheduled for Tuesday, June 10 (today).

Ajaero declared the suspension of the strike because the figures from the Tripartite Committee are currently with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Recall, that the NLC and TUC disclosed it would hit the streets on Tuesday after rejecting the N62,000 offer from the federal government on Sunday, June 9.

“We cannot declare strike now because the figures are with the President. We will wait for the President’s decision.

“During the tenure of the immediate past president, the figure that was proposed to him was N27,000 by the tripartite committee but he increased it to N30,000. We are hopeful that this president will do the right thing,” Ajaero said.
