Blackout as national grid collapses again

Report indicates that the national grid, centrally managed from Osogbo, Odun State, collapsed at around 4:30pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

As a result darkness has engulfed the country. Distribution companies across the country said that their feeders have been rendered inactive, leading to a widespread blackouts.

It was stated that the grid output was said to be 2984 megawatts as at 4pm and as at 5pm, the 21 plants on the grid had zero output.

This will be the fourth time the grid has collapsed this year, 2024.
