A social media user, Shehu Gazali Sadiq has stated that Sharia law is only for poor northerners.

According to him, he is yet to hear of a wealthy man who has been charged by the Sharia court for a crime.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “No rich man in Norther Nigeria has ever been charged to Sharia court for any crime. Sharia law is for the poor and hapless Northern Nigerians."
