A two-time presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore was barred from getting access to the Supreme Court to witness a case involving the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Sowore in a post on his Instagram page detailed how he was told "no access" by officials who appeared to be from the Department of State Security (DSS) at one of the two checkpoints mounted at the entrance of the apex court.

The officers could be heard threatening to break the phone Sowore used in recording the altercation. The officer who wasn't identified continuously asked Sowore to move his car away from the Supreme Court complex.

"I tried attending the Supreme Court ruling for #FreeNnamdiKanuNow this morning but was denied access by an unruly team of @OfficialDSSNG officers stationed at the gate of the #SupremeCourtofNigeria screaming #AccessforSowore. It was shameful and this tells that the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu is an @OfficialAPCNg official position. The regime of Bola Tinubu @officialABAT is in on it," Sowore captioned the video shared on his Instagram page.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has set aside a judgment by the lower court that dismissed the terrorism charges against the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The apex court held that the court of appeal was wrong and that the trial court couldn’t try him because his rights were violated by the prosecution.
