Governor Siminalayi Fubara allegedly belittled his predecessor Nyesom Wike at a function in Rivers State.

At the commissioning of a mall in Rivers state, Fubara arrived in a black Mercedes Benz, E-Class, surrounded with security personnel. He wore a black kaftan and dark shades.

He arrived the event with Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Governor and member of the G-5 group led by Nyesom Wike as they were welcomed by some stakeholders.

The event had the presence of Nyesom Wike, the immediate past president of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

However, there was a twist of event as Fubara was captured sitting on a palatial chair with Governor Makinde while his predecessor Wike was seen sitting on a stool.

This caused a stir on social media as many wondered if Fubara was sending a message to Wike following their recent scuffle over the political structure of the state.

Wike had accused Fubara of neglecting the structure that brought him into power, which almost led to Fubara been impeached as Governor but for the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.

However, at the quarterly general meeting of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers in Port Harcourt held on Thursday, December 7, Fubara noted that he would never surrender the state to blackmail and intimidation.

According to him, the state is the people’s inheritance and he would protect and defend it from blackmail.

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has vowed never to surrender the state to blackmail and intimidation, adding that the state is the people’s inheritance. Hence, he would protect and defend it from blackmail.

“Let us not forget that Rivers State is our collective inheritance, presently under my watch, to protect, defend and advance it as the governor.

“I assure you that I will not fail in this responsibility, nor will I surrender our mandate and progress to intimidation, blackmail and deliberate sabotage.
