Moses Simon has apologised to the fans for the Super Eagles of Nigeria's poor display in the games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe insisting the Super Eagles will bounce back from their disappointing start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.

The Super Eagles held the Likuena of Lesotho to a 1-1 draw in their first game at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo last week Thursday.

Jose Peseiro’s side also laboured to a disappointing 1-1 draw with the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Sunday. The Nantes of France winger has now come out to apologize.

“Not the result we wanted but we will surely bounce back,” the former Levante player wrote on their X handle.

“Big apologies to our fans, you deserve better than the performance against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

“We have overcome so many challenges in the past. And now is the time to reflect and come back stronger.”

The Super Eagles currently occupy third position in Group C with two points from two games.

Their next opponent is the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in June 2024.
