Some Ghanaians traders have clashed with Nigerians living in Koforidua, the Eastern region of Ghana, and it had led to lots of chaos.

Recently, shops belonging to Nigerians were locked deep at night, especially the shops of those selling mobile phones and accessories.

Reacting to this, the Nigerians whose shops were affected tried to find the right ways to get their shops opened, including the intervention by NIDO, but it did not lead to a positive outcome.

Just last week, more shops were being locked up, especially the shops of Nigerians dealing in motorcycles.

Some Nigerians fought against the act, which they described as unjust.

An eye witness stated: "For two weeks they keep changing the date for opening of the shops and Nigerians sensed this may be circle incident playing out. So today, some Nigerians started bringing out their wares due to frustrations and degenerated into a fight where a Ghanaian was even caught on tape welding a cutlass.

"Nigerians all over Ghana, especially the leaders of various Nigeria organizations should look into the situation so it doesn’t go deeper than it is. What happened today should not have happened and it is worrisome.

"Some of the affected Nigerians were ready to go through it all. Even the NUTAG chairman was rough handled."
