'Dear INEC, what’s going on in Kogi' - Rufai Oseni asks

Rufai Oseni, a popular on-air-personality has reacted to the pockets of incidents clouded the electoral process in Kogi State.

Mr Oseni, a co-host on Arise Television in a post on X questioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following accusations by YIAGA Africa and Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

"Dear INEC, what’s going on in Kogi," he wrote.

Earlier, YIAGA Africa Africa's frontline non-profit organization promoting participatory democracy, human rights, and civic participation claimed in a post on X that it had cited a pre-filled results sheet in PU 004, Eni Ward of Ogori/magongo and 530 in PU 020, Eika/Ohizenyi, Okehi LGA in Kogi state before the commencement of voting.

INEC, in its response, said it is "currently investigating" the allegations.

Moments later, Senator Dino Melaye, the governorship candidate of the PDP raised concerns over the refusal of INEC staff to show his agents untampered result sheets.

According to Melaye, this incident occurred in Ogori Mangogo BC. He also called on his agents to resist and protest if INEC officials refused to show them clean result sheets.

"Vote not going on in ogori mangogo bc inec staff refuse to show our agents clean result sheets. If they refuse to show you untampered result sheets, resist and protest," he wrote on Saturday, November 11.

Dino Melaye who is contesting on the tickets of the Peoples Democratic Party is battling APC’s Usman Ododo, SDP’s Muri Ajaka, ADC’s Leke Abejide, LP’s Adejo Okeme, ZLP’s Fatima Suleiman in the off-cycle governorship election.

Elections are currently ongoing in three states across the federation namely Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi.
