Nigerians on social media have taken a dig at President Bola Tinubu after a viral video of him categorically claiming that he has secured the original replacement degree certificate from the Chicago State University (CSU).

The video emerged after CSU revealed that the document presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as proof that Tinubu attended the institution wasn't given by it.

In the video from his pre-election interview at Chatham House, he said, "Now I can announce that I have received my original replacement degree certificate from the Chicago State University (CSU)".

The video was shared by Dele Momodu, a leading member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
