PDP will expel Wike at the appropriate time – David Bwala

Nyesom Wike, Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike, Minister of FCT

A former spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council in the 2023 presidential poll, David Bwala, has said that Nyesom Wike, will be barred from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) soon.

On Thursday, August 31, Bwala told Channels Television in an interview that the party’s silence over Wike’s actions should not be seen as weakness.

In an interview with Channels Television on Thursday night, August 31, Bwala said the party's silence over the actions of Wike should not be interpreted as weakness.

He said this, following comments the FCT Minister made during an interview with the station.

Recall that Wike had dared the PDP leadership to suspend or expel him from the party for supporting President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election, who belong to the All progressives Congress.

Reacting to Wike’s outburst, Bwala said;

“Why we hardly react to what he (Wike) says is because he loves drama, everybody knows that. The quietness of the party is not weakness…the party knows what it is doing. At the appropriate time, he (Wike) would not only be suspended but expelled. Take that to the bank.”

He also noted that although Wike has the capacity to develop the FCT, he should not claim the power of a state governor to himself.

Bwala stated that among the 45 ministers of the President, Wike has proven to be the most effective but warned the FCT minister not to embark on a revenge mission on opponents and residents in the nation’s capital by threatening to demolish structures in places outside Abuja original master plan.

"The FCT is not like the Ministry of Works; it is an Administration. There are many important things than demolition that makes up the Administration of the FCT.

Let’s even start with the demolition. He (Wike) said he wants to go back to the original Master Plan. If we may talk about the original Master Plan, let me tell you that the Aso Villa that sits the President, the seat of power is not in the original Master Plan, it must go down.

Secondly, all the military barracks that you see within the FCT are not in the original Master Plan; then the military barracks must go down.

Thirdly, the famous Asokoro you are hearing and the extension where all the governors in Nigeria either have liaison offices or their private homes, they are not in the original plan, they must go down. There are many Federal Government assets and building in strategic places that are not in the original Master Plan,” he said.
