Residents of Kano State have hit the streets to protest against war in neighbouring Niger Republic.

Recall that the ECOWAS Heads of State called for the military troops to be on standby to invade Niger Republic after attempts for Niger junta who ousted its democratically elected President Muhammad Bazoum.

ECOWAS also imposed sanctions on Niger in to bid to force the Niger junta to restore Bazoum to power and end the coup.

As a result of the failed negotiations, ECOWAS has plan to issue a military intervention in the West African country.

This call for war does not seem to go down well with many as they call on the ECOWAS Chairman, President Bola Tinubu to halt plans for war.

Residents in Kano state embarked on a peaceful protest to appeal to Tinubu not to unleash war in Niger.

The residents were seen holding placards and chanting songs.
