'Return to thy trenches' - Shehu Sani tells those waiting for ministerial appointments

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Shehu Sani has taken to social media to mock those who failed to make the ministerial list President Bola Tinubu presented to the upper legislative chamber.

On Wednesday, August 2, Senate President Godwill Akpabio read the final 19 names on the list on the floor of the Senate. This follows the initial 28 names submitted for ministerial positions last week.

The list brings in total 47 nominees that are will undergo screening by the Senate.

However, the list did not include some notable politicians who fought for President Tinubu during the 2023 presidential elections. This has brought about mockery from some Nigerians.

In a post shared on his Twitter page, Shehu Sani called on persons who thought they would be appointed as ministers in Tinubu’s government to “return to their trenches.”

Sharing his thoughts, Sani tweeted;

"Oh ye thee waiting by the Rock for ministerial appointment, Thee can now returneth to thy trenches or be the minister of thy Lord."
